I just caught this movie with on demand from http://www.directstartv.com and was completely surprised to find a new vampire movie that was actually worth the money it cost to watch.
The story is basically about a kid who has eternally 12 year old vampire move in to the apartment next door. As the story unfolds, you follow the kid through his daily life where he shuffles between his mother who essentially ignores him and the bullies at school who definitely do not ignore him. His life starts changing as soon as he meets Abby.
Becoming friends with a vampire gives him an unspoken nightly date where he actually gets to interact with someone who does not give him a wedgie. The movie then follows Abby and Owen as their growing friendship blossoms into an awkward romance and the suspense builds as you wonder just how long Abby can continue to get the blood she needs while staying ahead of the cop who is steadily closing in on her identity.
This movie is a coming-of age, romance, horror drama with great acting across the board. And it has Chloe Moretz as the sweetest vampire who ever graced the screen. What's not to love?

My daughter's afterschool activities

Sometimes it's hard to keep up with all the stuff that I do on my time, much less all the stuff that my daughter does after school. There's art lessons, Girl Scouts, children's choir at church and now she's added figure skating to that long schedule of activities.
I was a little surprised when she told me she wanted to learn how to figure skate but I thought that it might be good to do a physical activity since the rest of her stuff isn't. As I was looking up information on lessons, I came across some facts about a wireless internet service that sounded like it might be better than the one we've been using forever, so I decided to click here and switch over from our old provider.
Well, I wouldn't quite call my daughter a figure skater yet because she's only a lesson or two into the sport, but she definitely is an ice skater because she's picked up on how to stop, go and control what she's doing when she's skating. I guess there are a lot of sparkly leotards in her future.

Who to Be?

It happens to me every year. As Halloween draws closer I am forced to make a tough decision. I have to choose a costume when there are so many awesome ones to choose from. I can never decide to the last minute and I spend hours just wandering around in local costume shops, online sites, and even Wal-mart in an attempt to get ideas. I don't like just buying a pre-fab costume. I like to make my own. At least in that way I can be original even if I use a common idea.
This morning I got dressed, set my home security alarm I found online at www.Homealarmexpert.com, and headed out to shop once more. I had the day off and I was determined to actually get an idea before the last minute for once. I spent all day shopping and never did decide on anything.
I began heading home with disappointment etched on my features. It seemed like this year would be the same as always. I went through all my costume designs of the last few years and shook my head. They had all been somewhat original. Once I had been a vampire pirate. Another Year I chose to be both a ninja catperson. That had involved intricate makeup! This year, though, I wasn't sure what to be.
It wasn't until I ran across a movie poster for Avatar that a thought crossed my mind. It might sound silly but it gave me an idea. I immediately headed home to figure out how to be a zombie Na'vi.

Save Money With Movies On Demand

In today's economy, I just can't afford to go the movies. By the time I pack the wife and kids into the car, fill up the gas tank, drive to the theater, buy our tickets, and load up on popcorn and drinks for everyone, I'm too worried about paying the bills for the month to relax and enjoy the movie. That's why family movie night in my house comes courtesy of the movies on demand feature on our satellite TV from www.bestchoicetv.com/satellite-tv/il/.
I used to love the experience of going to a theater to see the latest blockbuster release. With funds so tight these days, however, I prefer not to spend a lot of cash to take the family to a film that we may end up not enjoying. It makes much more sense to catch a movie on demand. If one or more members of our clan aren't enjoying the film, they can just go into another room and do something else without making me feel like I've thrown money away. Since finding one movie that appeals to all five of us can be a challenge anyway, choosing from the wide variety of films available through the movies on demand feature is much more convenient than trying to pick a winner from the five or six movies playing at our local multiplex.
With movies on demand, the whole family can enjoy a movie, complete with snacks and drinks, in the comfort of our living room for roughly what it would cost one of us to see a new release in a theater on opening night. That makes it a heck of a lot easier for this hard-working dad to enjoy the film!

The Andy Griffith Show Still As Good Today As When It Came Out

Without a doubt, The Andy Griffith Show has stood the test of time and one of my all-time favorite shows to watch. It has recently marked its 50th anniversary, which tells you about its staying power. The story takes place in a small town called Mayberry and follows the exploits of Sheriff Andy Taylor and his friends and family. One of the funniest characters on the show is Deputy Barney Fife. He seems to always get into trouble no matter what he does. The rapport between him and Andy is just wonderful.
In the show, Andy Griffith plays Andy Taylor and he does a wonderful job. Some of the other characters you get to watch through the series are Opie Taylor Andy's son who is played by Ron Howard. Opie is a young man who gets into trouble sometimes and Ron Howard does a great job playing the little boy. There are also many different characters that you meet through the series such as Goober at the gas station, Floyd the Barber and Aunt Bee who lives with Andy Taylor. I watch The Andy Griffith Show on direct tv tampa when the reruns pop up. Even though I have seen every episode of the show this series is still as good as the day I first caught it on television.

Ready To Change Your Attitude

Experience at the Movies

This summer I have gone to see movies at the local drive-in theater at least once a month. My husband and I like to borrow a truck and snuggle up in the back for the double feature. The drive-in usually shows movie pairings that include something for everyone, which could include anything from comedy to family movies to action. I enjoy all of these genres so the drive-in is the ideal choice for us.
Another favorite is the theater close by with only one screen. I like this theater because they keep the ticket prices comparatively low. And even though they only show one movie at a time, it is generally the one that I want to see.
I usually go to the movies with my husband or friends. We like to load up on water, coffee and snacks, especially if we are going to the drive-in, and we make sure our adt Home Alarm is set before we leave the house.
Occasionally I will take in a 3-D movie at the larger theater downtown, but I am more likely to opt for the cheaper option of the drive-in. I will only pay more for a 3-D movie if it's a movie that I've been dying to see and know will be worth the price. But no matter where the location, I love movies and will continue to see them as long as they are made.

Watching House in My House

I admit that I have never been much of a television watcher in my past, but ever since I hooked up my direct tv satellite, I have become completely addicted to the prime time drama "House". This is a bit out of my character, since I have never been one to get into hospital dramas, but "House" is so much different from the rest.
To catch everyone up to speed, House features the wild diagnosis process of the zany lead character, Dr. Gregory House. He is perhaps the most arrogant doctor anyone will run into, and in the show, he is often portrayed as being very disliked by both patients and physicians alike. In fact, the only reason Dr. House seems to keep is job is because of his ability to find cures for extremely ill patients. Even if the prognosis seems grim, Dr. House will determine the cause and find an unorthodox treatment.
No real hospital would ever put up with the shenanigans and protocol violations that are a weekly occurrence under Dr. House's care. This, however, makes for a television show that is full of drama. I find myself both loving and hating the doctor. His matter-of-fact attitude, along with his conceit, captivates the viewer for the entire hour. Since discovering "House", I have yet to miss a single episode! I cannot wait for many new seasons to come.

Back to School Shopping for Supplies

I love to shop for back to school supplies for my grandchildren. My grandchildren are in elementary school which makes them very small. It is always a lot of fun to take them with me and watch them get excited about the new clothes I just bought them.
But before we can go shopping there are a few things I like to do. First thing I do is look through the Sunday paper for coupons and to see who has big back to school sales going on. I want to make sure I get the best for my grandchildren and save money for myself. Then I make sure I set my alarm system before I leave the house. After all, you cannot be to careful this day and time.
Now it is time for some serious shopping. We usually go to Walmart first. Even though my grandchildren are small, they still know all about style. And they know Walmart has kids clothes with plenty of style. I can also get their shoes and back to school supplies there.
Since everything they need is on sale now, I like to buy plenty to last them this time of year. Being in elementary school they need a lot of supplies. Paper, pencils, glue, pencil holders, and backpacks are just a few of the items they need.

Newlywed and new NFL fan

There were certain concessions that I had to make when I got married about a year ago, like sharing a bathroom with my husband. But there of course, have been many good changes since then too, like becoming a huge NFL fan.I never really got my husband’s passion for it back when we were dating and then engaged. However, something seemed to just click and now I can’t stop reading blogs about the upcoming season and season predictions with my direct tv internet.When we met back in college my husband would spend a lot of time on his highspeed internet in Kentucky working on his fantasy football team. Now we both play on satellite internet in West Virginia and although he wouldn’t admit it, I’m better than him at fantasy football.
I’m really looking forward to the upcoming season and pulling for my team the Baltimore Ravens. Luckily we’re both Ravens fans – I kind of became one by default, another thing I picked up with marriage. At least our NFL allegiances won’t be something we have to worry about in our marriage.

I’m really looking forward to the upcoming season and pulling for my team the Baltimore Ravens. Luckily we’re both Ravens fans – I kind of became one by default, another thing I picked up with marriage. At least our NFL allegiances won’t be something we have to worry about in our marriage.

Vegetable Delight in Granada Hills is Chinese Vegan Paradise

Eating out, for me and my roommates, is at least a weekly tradition. We always go through the same routine before leaving the apartment--finding the keys (which are inevitably nowhere to be found for a good five or ten minutes), locating the wallets, and setting the home security alarm just before taking off. We found out where to get a door alarm near Cincinnati and it has been working great.
As a vegetarian, my favorite restaurant for eating out is Vegetable Delight in Granada Hills (San Fernando Valley), California. It's a Chinese restaurant at which all of the food is vegan.
The menu at Vegetable Delight is huge, with a wide range of options that leaves vegetarians (normally used to having one option from which to choose, if any) delirious with possible decisions.
It's not usually busy, but it is great food, and the people who run the restaurant are very sweet.
All meals come with free tea. My favorite appetizers are the crispy wantons and the fried spring rolls. The wanton soup is also spectacular!
I always tend to order a "fish" dish, along with orange chicken, which is marvelous. Occasionally we order a piece of vegan cheesecake to share, as well, which never fails to delight.
When it comes to prices, Vegetable Delight won't break your wallet. We usually spend about $17 per person, plus tax and tip. However, because the dishes are meant to be shared, there's the potential to try a large variety of foods if you're eating out with more people.

Beautiful Music
Ever since I was a young girl, I have always wanted to learn to play piano. I have always thought that piano music is quite possibly the most beautiful music the ear can ever hear. It is also such a versatile instrument that allows a player to play it in a variety of different ways.
I remember listening to my aunt play when I was a child. It was amazing! I would always ask her when I could learn to play piano just like her. She told me that all I had to do was practice, practice, practice. That sounded extremely difficult to me, but it was exactly how my aunt learned to play. As far as I know, she never had even one piano lesson.
Even if I never learn to play piano, I am hoping that my daughter will someday take an interest in it. It would be just as enjoyable to me seeing her making beautiful music on a piano bench as it would for me to be playing myself.
